1972. We are very selective in the types of waste we accept. Special waste
is accepted on a “case-by-case” basis and approval may be required from the
Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. The qualification process may
include supporting lab work, MSDS sheets, and a sworn, notarized statement
or generator certification regarding the waste in question. All loads of
industrial waste entering our landfill are inspected before and during the
unloading process. Shipments of “special waste” or asbestos enter our
landfill via a manifest or waste shipment record and a “FPC-Approval
Number.” We do not accept these types of waste without this approval number.
